Straight Answers

The questions people actually ask before they sign.

What happens if I sell my house?

You have two paths. The buyer takes over the agreement, or you pay off the remaining balance at closing. Most Space Coast buyers are happy to inherit a power bill that is lower than FPL's. Ask Austin to walk you through both options before you sign anything.

What if the panels don't make enough power?

You stay connected to FPL the entire time, so you never run out of power. Your system is designed around your real past usage, not a guess. If you use more than the system makes, you buy the difference from FPL at their normal rate. If you use less, the extra goes back to the grid.

Does this put a lien on my home?

A solar lease is not a mortgage. The financing company files a UCC-1 notice that covers the solar equipment itself, not your house. It can show up in a title search when you sell, which is normal for any leased system, and it gets handled as part of the transfer. Ask Austin to show you the actual document before you sign.

What does it cost up front?

Zero down. You pay a monthly amount for the power your system produces, and that amount is about 30% less than what FPL charges you today.

Can I just pay cash instead?

You can, and for some people it still makes sense. One thing to know: the 30% federal tax credit you used to claim yourself ended on December 31, 2025, so a cash or loan purchase no longer comes with it. On a lease, Zeo owns the system and takes that credit, then prices your monthly payment around it. You never file for anything. That is why zero down is usually the better math right now, not just the easier one. We are not tax advisors, so check with yours.

Does my solar payment go up over time?

Yes, by 2.9% a year, and that number is written into your agreement so you can see it before you sign. FPL has averaged closer to 4% a year, with more increases already approved through 2029. The gap between those two numbers is where your savings come from, and it widens every year you stay.

How long does the install take?

Most systems go in inside a single day. Zeo runs its own crews, so permits, installation, inspection and the FPL connection are all handled in house rather than farmed out to whoever is available.
